What
the professionals say
BoosterBooks caught
the imagination of children who might otherwise believe
that writing was for others. To share their sense of achievement
as THEIR book took shape reminded me of why I went into
teaching...

Michael and St John’s RC, Clitheroe
BoosterBooks provided
our children in both year 5 and year 6, with the opportunity
to work in small groups as part of an intensive support
programme. Although we were hoping that the children improved
their ‘word power’ and writing skills which
they did their real improvement was in the confidence
of the children involved, and the more positive approach
they developed to their work in general.
The children were delighted with their very ‘professional’
books, and enjoyed reading them to other children. They
were so enthusiastic about the whole experience in fact,
that the rest of the children in their year groups who
did not take part in the programme were disappointed that
they had not been included.
The whole project was a very positive, worthwhile and
enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

BoosterBooks definitely
boosts children’s confidence, once boosted it
blossoms and continues throughout the year.

I am impressed by the principles and philosophy of BoosterBooks.
Based on sound educational theories of how children
learn BoosterBooks offers an inspiring and purposeful
approach for getting to grips with reading, writing
and spelling.
What is more impressive however, are the ‘books’
produced by the children themselves: their comments
on the process of producing the ‘books’
is heart-warming to anyone who is passionate about teaching
and learning.

BoosterBooks is a
brilliant new approach to scaffolding children’s
learning in literacy that will reach even the most reluctant
pupils
