The BoosterBooks programme
was an extremely valuable learning experience for our
son, we just wish he could have had it sooner! It certainly
built up his confidence and self-esteem as well as improving
reading and spelling skills significantly. It was fantastic
to hear him reading the finished story publicly with
such confidence and enthusiasm. I think that the fun
approach and the concentrated daily input were excellent.
I really believe, as a parent of a child with specific
learning difficulties and as a teacher of many years'
experience, that this approach to learning could greatly
benefit many children.

Joshua’s involvement in BoosterBooks
had a significant impact on his confidence. He enjoyed
the activities, especially the creation of the word
search. This way of learning spelling is far more exciting
and an easier environment to help children who lack
confidence in their own ability.
He is very proud of his books and keeps them in a safe
place to show others. Joshua’s progress over the
five weeks was amazing; I just wish that he could have
this time given to him each term. His final report and
discussion at parents' evening was extremely positive,
in terms of his maturity and his concentration and willingness
to learn. I am sure that some of this stemmed from the
boost that was given to him early in the school year.

The biggest impact BoosterBooks
had regarding my sons learning needs were that for the
first time in ages he came home enthused and excited
about doing his homework. Talking about this with him-I
think the reason was the fact that he was able to take
an active responsibility in his learning.
Creating stories really empowered him and his confidence
took a real "boosting". This confidence has
remained with him and his motivation to learn now means
he enjoys going to school . I would be happy to recommend
the BoosterBooks programmes to any parent who like myself struggled
to even get a pencil in their child’s hands.

Simon has done really well at school this year. Being
on the BoosterBooks
programme last year really boosted his confidence and
made him realise that he can ‘have a go’
at anything that is asked of him. His spellings, composition
and concentration have improved and he now willingly
picks up a book to read just for fun!
