BoosterBooks programmes have run very successfully in Lancashire since June 2003 and are now available to schools throughout the UK via BoosterBooks Outreach Teachers. We are also in talks to make BoosterBooks available internationally in countries such as Australia and New Zealand.

BoosterBooks mission is to make the programmes available to all ‘learning vulnerable’ children across the United Kingdom by introducing BoosterBooks Outreach Teachers to the BoosterBooks philosophy and sharing our approach towards effective teaching and learning. As a training provider we will enable BoosterBooks Outreach Teachers to run BoosterBooksprogrammes successfully with children of all ages and abilities, including adults.
BoosterBooks staff are committed to providing the best opportunities for children to discover their potential, to experience success, and enjoy their learning.
About The People & Research
The BoosterBooks programmes
have been designed by Kate Nayler, who spent eleven years
working with the learning and behaviour support teams
in Lancashire before working as an educational psychologist.
Professor Alec Webster became involved with BoosterBooks
following his review and endorsement of the programmes
in February, 2004.

Kate Nayler is the creator of BoosterBooks and also works as a consultant educational psychologist. After teaching in London and Hong Kong she moved to Lancashire where she spent eleven years working with children statemented for specific learning difficulties (dyslexia), moderate learning difficulties, emotional behavioural difficulties and speech and language difficulties, in both mainstream and special primary and secondary schools. She also spent time working with the Area Special Educational Needs Officer as a member of the Pupil Assessment and Monitoring Team which was set up to help implement the Code of Practice.
In 2002, Kate set up The Dyslexia Clinic to provide advice, support and thorough educational assessments for parents of ‘learning vulnerable’ children. BoosterBooks followed almost immediately, as a result of the number of young people who, despite having years of tuition for dyslexia, had made little or no progress.
A great deal of her work has involved teaching, and offering support and advice to teachers to help them meet the needs of the children in the classroom. She has also been involved in providing in-service training for teachers, educational psychologists and education officers.
As a director of BoosterBooks , Kate is actively involved in running the company and training the BoosterBooks Outreach Teachers.
