All
the children who have taken part in BoosterBooks
programmes so far have enjoyed their experiences. They
have all developed competence in reading, writing and
spelling, and had a major boost to their confidence and
self-esteem. The work the children have produced speaks
for itself: the pride and joy emulating from the children
as they have shown their books to others is the best measure
of success. There is no miracle cure, but we can create
the best conditions for promoting teaching and learning.
What the children have to say:
“It was really fun. We were authors!”
Robin
“It was really exciting when we started the book”
Josh
“The book was special – we made it and I’ve
never done anything like that before”
Thomas
“It was fun and exciting. I feel proud of achieving
the book”
Rebecca
“It was really good to get your ideas in a book
and see it published”
Matt |
“It
was good fun writing the book. I liked drawing the pictures”
Simon
“It was good. The pictures were exactly the same
in the book. They weren’t changed”
Will
“It was good getting all your ideas together and
seeing which one was best”
Chris
“It made writing more interesting, I liked making
up our own story together. It was fun and I enjoyed doing
it every day”
Nick
“I enjoyed working with a small group of students
and having the freedom to write whatever I wanted. I also
learned lots of new spellings whilst working on the book.
Its brilliant having a book on the book case at home which
I am joint author and illustrator”
