“Too many children continue to ‘fail’ unnecessarily because they are taught to their weaknesses as opposed to their strengths. If a child is disphonetic, can we really expect them to ‘over-come’ it with a diet of phonics?”

Training and INSET

BoosterBooks Training Course
This 3 day intensive training course provides trainees with the theoretical underpinnings and research background upon which the BoosterBooks approach is based. Essentially practical, trainees will learn how to assess and analyse reading, writing and spelling behaviours and design programmes specific to individual needs. As BoosterBooks programmes can be designed for any age or ability, the course is relevant for those who wish to teach children or adults. QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is not required. For more detailed information, please visit our website: www.boosterbooks.co.uk or email us at info@boosterbooks.co.uk to arrange an appointment to discuss training.

INSET
A range of literacy and maths tuition is available, using the BoosterBooks approach to teaching and learning. The approach differs from traditional tuition in that it works towards children’s strengths; learning is in context and is useful and relevant to the child. BoosterBooks programmes have been running in schools in Lancashire and Yorkshire since 2003 and have proved to be highly effective, particularly compared to traditional programmes for dyslexia.

Parent Workshops
For parents who want to know more about their children’s learning and how they can help at home. We offer tailor-made workshops for individuals or groups of parents.
