“Too many children continue to ‘fail’ unnecessarily because they are taught to their weaknesses as opposed to their strengths. If a child is disphonetic, can we really expect them to ‘over-come’ it with a diet of phonics?”

Kate Nayler has worked with children with specific learning difficulties (dyslexia, dyspraxia); social, emotional and behavioural difficulties; and speech and language difficulties for over 20 years, as both a specialist teacher and an educational psychologist.

Following the launch of BoosterBooks in 2004 she set up The Department for Enhancing Learning at an independent prep school in North Yorkshire, replacing the traditional dyslexia style of learning support with the BoosterBooks approach.

Results have been dramatic, particularly with children most severely affected by dyslexia. The BoosterBooks Centre aims to help others to enhance children’s learning and discover their potential for a brighter education.
